While I was working on our new home, Dave was in Guthrie for the next couple of days finalizing repairs and hauling the few remaining items to my grandmother's house to put into storage there. I am grateful to him for being able to take care of all of the loose ends, though he sacrificed sleep and a lot of sweat to pull it off, but did a superb job! (The buyers, after taking possession of the house, said that all the repairs were excellent, and must have been done by professionals. So to my mom and Dave, way to tackle the repairs!!)
Back in Dallas, Wednesday, my goal was to get the kitchen set up, which I was able to do minus silverware, cereal bowls, and a few other essential items; however, we made due.
Thursday, I had two appointments - both with reports that the twins were still doing well, that they were growing, and that I would only schedule one appointment for the next week secondary to the 4th of July holiday. The maternal-fetal specialist still couldn't get measurements of the twins because of the their positions - they are slightly angled, with heads toward my right hip and their sweet little feet kicking my left ribs.
After the appointments on Thursday, Liam and I headed back to Oklahoma City so that I could be there to sign the closing papers on our house on Friday. Once we signed the papers, I picked Ethan up for the weekend, and my mom, Stacey, and my nieces, Olivia and Averi, came for the weekend to help with the unpacking process, and to enjoy the awesome apartment pool! It was a fun weekend. We worked, and played - but mostly worked.
The following Wednesday, July 3rd, I had my most recent appointment. One of the twins weighs just over 6 lbs, the other twin weighs a little over 5 1/2 lbs. We discussed delivery weight and the dr. guesstimated that they would be around 6 1/2 to 7 lbs each, maybe a little bigger!! Those are my boys! Earlier that day, my OB's nurse called and asked to reschedule the delivery date to Tuesday, July 16th instead of Friday, July 12th. The reason for the change was so that the twins could have MRI's taken within a couple of days of their birth, rather than having to wait until Monday. I agreed that this was acceptable, and a good idea. (I am just happy to be carrying them a little longer, even though it is only 4 days longer! Let those little lungs develop for an extra four days!)
All in all, God is working out the kinks in our story, and continuing to show us that He has control of the situations that we face everyday, even though sometimes it feels like a scattered jigsaw puzzle. But with all puzzles, it takes Someone who can see the big picture, time, and patience, and lucky for us, our God has it all!
