Ok. I have been putting off blogging because there are a lot of things that I have to talk about, but I just can't wait anymore! So, I am going to post this one about an entire family of kind, generous, and loving people!
Dave's coworker, Joe Voss, gave Dave a contact here in Dallas of someone who could help us sort through the various suburbs and areas of Dallas. Robert Agnew and his wife Gina contacted us via the email from our blog, and let me tell you, they have been incredibly helpful and kind to us! We first met them for a lunch date. Afterward, we were all to go apartment hunting, but because i had already been in dallas for a few days for appointments, I was missing my boys too much and was anxious to get back to them, so Dave stayed and did initial, informal house hunting with Rob.
When Dave called me after spending the afternoon with Rob, he was so excited about driving around and finding good options for housing, but he was even more thrilled to have met Rob and Gina and their three little ones. I wished I had stayed and spent more time with them!
Fortunately, I got another chance to spend time with the Agnews, as Rob offered to take maternity pictures of me. He had told Dave that he would be opening a photography business soon. Dave and I gratefully accepted his offer. And as a result (and with permission from the artist), I get to share these amazing pictures with all of you!
Rob and Gina introduced us to the Dallas Arboretum - a beautiful 60 acres of trees, flowers, trails, garden features, and landscaping. As with all of the photography shoots I have participated in (which is not very many granted), I felt self-conscious and rather awkward, but after the first few snaps of the camera, Rob and Gina were able to ease my tension by creating an easy-going and relaxed atmosphere.
They were patient, and encouraging, and supportive.
I had grabbed a black tank top and skirt to do some belly shots before the end of the shoot, but had forgotten it in the car. While Dave and Rob went back to the car, Gina and I stayed with the babies and talked about Dallas, and the coming of the twins, breast feeding, and all kinds of motherly things. It was so nice to find a down-to-earth mother here in Dallas who I know I can call and ask for advice!
When the men got back we continued with the photo shoot, but just as I was getting ready to show off my baby bump, a huge crowd of arboretum enjoyers walked around a corner. Before I could say anything, Gina suggested we find a more private area where we could continue. As I mentioned, they created a very comfortable environment.
After we had finished with the pictures, we took Liam back to the frog fountain feature from one of the photo locations and let him play in the water.
All in all, it was a great day! We got to spend a few hours with a great family, we experienced a beautiful feature of Dallas that we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise, AND we get to recommend the services of a very talented photographer! I only posted a few of the photos. It was hard to pick just a few to share!!
