Well. I can't wait to tell you all, so here it is:
THE BABIES ARE COMING HOME ON WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!!
Less than one week and they will be in our home. Four days shy of 11 full months in the hospital. EEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
So, we are obviously VERY excited, and a little nervous, as there are a lot more germs in the real world than there are in the hospital world, but these boys are strong, and God is the Protector and Healer. And by golly, if we haven't been shown time and time again - God's got this. Our future, our present, and our past.
Let us all do a happy dance, and praise God!
Now, for the rest of the news.
THE BOYS ARE OFF THE VENTS!!!!!!
Cue happy dance number 2! They are breathing on their own all the time, and they are tolerating it VERY well! Praise The Lord!
I think that is all the really big really great news, but wowie. That is good stuff.
Since the last time I posted a blog, I have had several family members help us with the big brothers so that I could maximize time with the babies, we had a family portrait,
we have been blessed by Sylvan Hills Church of Christ in Sherwood, AR, MY BROTHER (Tris Gale) AND SISTER-IN-LAW (Sarah Gale) RAN A MARATHON IN EDINBUROUGH, SCOTLAND to help raise money for the babies,
my Aunt Laurie and cousin Sarah Eschochea threw the most EPIC 2nd birthday party for Liam,
Dave and I have both roomed in for 24 hours with the babies and been solely responsible for meds, feeds, breathing treatments, diaper and bedding changes, etc.. We learned that nurses, respiratory therapists, nurses techs work their patiooties off!!
We also took the boys to a GI specialist, we almost have the house ready for the babies, I turned another year older (dave sold some of his musical equipment (I.e. Guitars and amps) and with help from his parents bought me a beautiful piano!!)
Ethan successfully completed first grade and will be spending the summer with his dad (though this makes me quite sad. I miss him!)
And the only other thing I can think to include is that I participated in (I.e. walked) the Run or Dye 5k with my mom, Ethan, and friend Paula. (Actually Paula and I jogged across the finish line. Hahaha)
These are only the highlights. I will go into more detail when the crazy tapers off.
3 good things:
1.) Knowing that Sylvan Hills Church of Christ has a heart for people, and that they continually keep our boys in their hearts and prayers. Thank you for coming to visit the boys, Greg!
2.) Having the love and support of our families. You have been so helpful and understanding. I can't thank you all enough!
3.) having the freedom to serve The One true God.
